Come join MAEOE and the community of Idlewild for some socializing, exploring, and great conversation. On Saturday, June 18th, MAEOE will be hosting a day of camaraderie and learning.
Idlewild, located near Big Rapids, Michigan, has a rich history as a vacation area for a diverse population of people. Come learn the history of this area, enjoy the wonderful natural resources it has to offer, and make some new friends as MAEOE continues to build relationships with communities and learn how people enjoy our great state.
When: Saturday, June 18th, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Where: 167 Unity, Idlewild Michigan.
Why? To learn more about the different ways Michiganders enjoy our outdoors and make some new friends.
What to bring: Camp chair and “finger” food to share.

Itinerary:
10:00 am -11:00 am. Meet at Mike Reed’s property ( MAEOE Board member), located across from historic Paradise Lake and Lindsey Park, home of famous Idlewild block parties and glamping (glamorous camping) events. Bring a lawn chair, and sit and chat about the area and soak up the vibe of Idlewild.
11:00am-Noon. Continue the conversation over lunch. Everyone is invited to bring a dish to pass (finger food). Beautiful place, great people, and good food. What else could you want?
Noon- 4:00 pm Choose your own adventure.

Get festive! Attend the Juneteenth Festival on Williams Island.
“The Idlewild Juneteenth Festival will bring Idlewild and surrounding communities closer by spreading good cheer and fun. From sun up to sun down, community members and visitors can groove to a variety of arts including: music, dance, poetry, and karaoke. Attendees will be challenged to know historical facts about Idlewild and Juneteenth. Over 300 attendees are expected to gather at Wilson Island enjoying food, fun, and each other’s talents and company. This annual festival aims to bring together families of all ethnicities and people of all ages for a great historical celebration.”
